Early Intervention is introduction of planned programming
deliberately timed and arranged in order to alter the anticipated or projected course
of development. As genetic factors are predetermined and cannot be changed, to bring
in required changes in child's development, the focus is entirely on environment
in Early Intervention. Hence changes are brought about in child's environment, which
have positive influence on child and enhance his development to the maximum potential.
Early Intervention programme at our MANOVIKAS Centre is both curative and remedial.
It provides training for twenty children of 0-5 years age
to (i) accelerate child development rate (ii) acquisition of new behavior skills
by the child (iii) minimize the effects of handicapped condition (iv) prevent secondary
handicaps (v) render support the families of these children to cope with the challenges.
One special educator, one special therapist, and one physio-therapist
work two days in a week with parents and children in at this center.
